I Don't Wanna Lose This Feeling...

.
What is that? Do you smell it? It's kind of... fruity. A wafting of sweetness through the air. Colors seem a little brighter - yellows more golden, greens more verdant, reds all of a deeper cherry... I don't think I'm having a stroke... no... why, I think it might be a Daisies sort of day!

The last episode of Pushing Daisies, Bryan Fuller & Co.'s brilliant ode to human contact, murder, songbirds and pies, aired in the US coming up on two years ago, burned off by ABC on June 13th, 2009. Twenty-two episodes are all we got but in those twenty-two hours there's more life than television's been able to muster in all the time since. So the spark still shines, the happy memories remain...

... and finally, the second season soundtrack comes out! Today in fact. Thirty-one yes thirty-one tracks of previously unreleased loveliness straight from composer Jim Dooley - whom we got to interview once upon a time. You can, you should, go and buy it at this link. (And then buy the first season's soundtrack here. Oh, and all the DVDs.) And then if all of us buy it The Powers That Be will see all the money Pushing Daisies is still making these almost-two-years later and they'll order seventeen thousand more episodes. Hooray! Alright, I dare to dream. But still, dream with me. If ever there were a show that dared us to dream, Pushing Daisies was it.

All this talk and I've delayed the prize. It didn't make it onto either of the soundtracks, but in honor of today's soundtrack release I've got Kristin Chenoweth's beyond-lovely cover of "Eternal Flame" (from the episode called "Comfort Food") for y'all.

.
.
Download it at this link, or this one.

Tell Bryan Fuller thank you, y'all.
(A good way to do that would be to go and buy the soundtrack!)
And if you missed them before, you can still download a couple of
previously only-released-here-at-MNPP tracks at the below links.
Two different versions of Kristin Chenoweth
covering Lionel Ritchie's "Hello" are here

Her cover of "Candle on the Water" is here

Everytime i think of Pushing Dasises, i'm happy and depressed at the same time. I LOVED that show. Watching the final episode was SO hard for me. 'Eternal Flame' does make me feel a little better though. :)

Thanks, Bryan!

Oh my god, thank you!
I had ripped my own bad-quality copy from the show, complete with Ned's interruptions. That's been tiding me over until now.

I already pre-ordered the soundtrack so hopefully it will be in my hot little hands soon enough. :D

*sigh* My love for Pushing Daisies is never ending.

Will we ever get more Daisies Ways Not to Die? I assume Bryan Fuller's very busy, but I really loved that feature. Pretty please?

I'm still waiting with bated breath for the comics too (especially since reading about the possible multimedia experience!

Thank you so much for sharing these! I've been re-watching season 2 the past few days and falling in love all over again. And am so happy to get full versions of Kristin's songs!

Would you mind sharing what all was on her wish list disc? So delightful, thank you again!

Happy day! I'd given up hope that they'd release the Season 2 soundtrack until I saw a comment on the facebook page.

Thank you so much for posting the links to the full versions of Kristin's songs to complement it! Candle on the Water is one of my go-to bad day songs, and the brief 20 second clip on youtube manages to cheer me up. The full version is going to be fantastic!

Sad that we missed out seeing Kristin in a musical version of Earth Girls Are Easy!

Thank you so much for sharing this - I love Pushing Daisies, and I'm still sad it's living up to its name I love the Daisies Ways Not to Die posts, they're fun, so thanks for sharing your interviews and insights. I also find your blog terribly distracting in the best possible way, so that whenever I come here, I always stay far longer than I mean to, so thank you for that! :D

I must say, Ways not to die is a fun idea to explore. Interestingly, I used to discuss it with friends at school - we decided being grated to death feet first would be a very good way not to die...

also let it be known that Kristin totally said she misses PUSHING DAISIES the other day on Twitter. so it's in the air, missing that show.

Thank you, so much, for the mp3s. These are fantastic. I was so disappointed to hear that the second season soundtrack would be without these fabulous renditions. Thanks, again!

I just got my season 2 soundtrack from Amazon. I can't believe how many times I've listened to the season 1 soundtrack these past few years. It's still fresh and wonderful.
I bought the season 1 DVD set when it first came out, then got a bluray player and rebought season 1 in bluray format, and then season 2 in bluray.
As you can tell, I'm hopelessly addicted to Pushing Daisies even after all these years.

This is obviously not surprising, since we're more than a decade removed from the original date of posting, but the download links are unfortunately no longer working. Would you, by chance, still have the files and be able to reupload them? It's a complete shot in the dark but I figured it was worth asking, since I don't believe the PD season 2 songs were ever officially released anywhere else.

Still miss the show to this day.
